dr. Jørgen Mash's dnsbl
no-more-funn
|
If you tried to send e-mail and it was returned to you with an error message that
pointed to this page, the ip address of your outgoing mail server is listed in no-more
funn. Use the search form below to find more information on who blocks you, look
for NOMOREFUNN for detailed information on your listing
in no-more-funn.
Why?
The alter ego of dr. Jørgen Mash used to maintain a local blocklist on
all the mail servers that he manage. However sometimes he forgot to remove ip addresses
from one server. Also the local blocklists did not provide a way to explain why they
got blocked.
On top of that he wanted to be able to block some Danish spammers and spamware vendors.
Why is a ip listed?
no-more-funn returns a CNAME that resolves to 127.0.0.* if a ip is listed, Some records
also have a TXT record with some information. Also the CNAME shows the listing class.
In general no-more-funn uses the following classes:
- Individual spam sources. These are generally taken from discussions on news.admin.net-abuse.email
and dk.admin.netmisbrug. If you have inherited such ip address space, please let
me know. However, you are probably on LOTS of other individual blocklists, and will
have a hard time getting removed from all of them.
- Dialup equivalent ip addresses. These are generally determined by manually looking
at the reverse DNS names or WHOIS netblock names. If you have a real mail server
on a static ip address in one of these blocks, please let me know so I can correct
this list. Please include the bounds of your static netblock so that I can remove
the entire block, rather than just the specific ip address of your current mail server.
no-more-funn generally list cable modem, dsl and adsl netblocks where the provider
does not publish the customer contact information for the sub-allocations via either
rdns or rwhois. Examples of such providers include but are not limited to and
GTE.
- Netblocks that refuse to remove their spammers, otherwise known as spam support.
In this case, you will need to find another provider, or you will need to convince
your current provider to remove their spammers.
- Bulk mailers that don't require confirmed opt-in from their customers, or that
have have allowed known spammers to become clients.
- The output server from multi-stage open relay chains that have sent spam to users
here.
- Single stage open relays that are not listed in any open relay databases yet.
- Spamware vendors, or companies promoting spamware.
- Miscellaneous - includes systems that are strongly suspected of being multistage
open relays, but where I have not been able to identify the input stage.
Automatic: Type in your IP address in the box above, submit , review the findings, and then click on the removal button.
Manual: If you have additional questions you may use the form. It located here.
Please note that manual removal requests may take up to 4-8 weeks - automatic removal requests are processed sevaral times every day
Can I get a copy?
Yep, the current zone files (in rbldnsd or bind format) is located here.
Can I use no-more-funn to block mail on my own mail server?
Sure, but no-more-funn is designed to block SPAM and other stuff on a limited number
of mail-servers you will probably find that we block important mail.
How do I do that?
As no-more-funn.moensted.dk is a local list, you'll have to figure that out on your own.
